FAIR TOURS IN LAOS
NOT CHEAPER BUT WE BELIEVE BETTER!
Explore the city of Luang Prabang in depth, as well as anywhere else you would like to travel in Laos, with a guide who is a specialist, passionate and in love with his country.
WHY THE TOURS ARE ‘’FAIR’’?
For those reasons:
-The ratio price/quality of our services
-The salary and working conditions of our employees and direct collaborators, for example guides, assistants and drivers.
-The honest agreements with all the partners for restaurants, tourist sites, traders etc.
-And a big one, the fact that 20 % of the earnings will go directly to a non profit organization, The Lao Sweet House (The Sweet Laotian House), who is helping young people.
The Lao Sweet House

DAY 1: LUANGPRABANG

Welcome and introduction to Luang Prabang which has a Unesco World status.
.Our guide will wait for you at the Exit door of the small airport. He will hold a poster with your name on it.
.The trip from the airport to your downtown hotel is approximately 35 minutes/25 Km.
There will be a short welcome briefing.
.Once at the hotel, there is time to settle in and relax before taking a trip to discover Phousy mountain, in order to enjoy the city view and the sunset.
This is followed by a walk in the old part of Luang Prabang, and finally a visit of the Night Market.
DAY 2: LUANGPRABANG -BAN XANG KHONG - BAN XANG HAY - PAK OU CAVES - OUDOMSAY

8:00 am: pick up from the lobby of the hotel.
Cruise by Slow Boat on the Mekong (About 2 hrs. in total). Springing forth over 4,000 km from the sea, high up on the Tibetan Plateau, the majestic Mekong River so dominates Lao topography that, to a large extent, the entire country parallels its course. Although half of the Mekong’s length runs through China, most of the river courses through Laos than through any other Southeast Asian country.

We will stop to visit Ban Xang Khong, a village which has a 400 m-strip of old houses and craft boutiques, where it’s possible to watch weavers and indigo paper makers at work. After that we will go by boat to Ban Xang Hay, the ‘Lao Village’ where the narrow footpath-streets behind the very attractive Lao Buddhist Monastery (‘Wat’ in Lao language) are full of weavers’ looms, fabric stalls and a few stills producing the wide range of liquors (Whisky) sold. Then we will continue by boat to visit two famous caves in Pak ou Caves, cut into the limestone cliff. Both are crammed with Buddha images of various styles and sizes. We will procure lunch in a local restaurant.
After the meal we will take a vehicle to Oudomxay (Dist: 210 KM/5-6hrs. of driving)with a few stops in ethnic villages.

Oudomxay is now a Laos-China trade centre and handy crossroads city that’s about as metropolitan a place in northern Laos. Around 25% of the population is Chinese. On the way the contrast is obvious in crossing the unspoiled countryside. The landscape is very green and magnificent, with rice paddies and plantations dividing areas with thick jungle. We will stay overnight in that city.
Arrivalat the hotel around 5:00 pm
DAY 3: OUDOMXAY - MUANG KHUA - NONGKHAIW

8:00 am: pick up from the lobby of the hotel.
Travel from Oudomxay to Muang Khua (Dist: 120KM /3 hrs. of driving)with some stops to see ethnic villages and markets, like Pak Nam Noi. Pretty little Muang Khua is an essential stop.
Then we will take a boat trip (around 5 hrs.) through the diverse and untouched natural environment. The waterway will lead across many mountain passes in the mostly highlands of Laos.
Finally, arrival at the small but beautiful city of Nongkhaiw, located on a peninsula, where we will enjoy the evening and stay overnight.
Arrival at the hotel around 5:00 pm
DAY 4: NONGKHAIW

9:00 am: pick up from the lobby of the hotel.
Visit of Nongkhaiw and its immediate vicinity all the while enjoying the view of the impressive mountain range. Interact with some people from the ethnic minorities living in the surrounding area and working daily on the farms.
Stop at a local school to meet the young students, with the possibility to give them material, like books and pencils. Visit a natural cave. Eat lunch at a local restaurant. Trek to enjoy the spectacular landscapes and hopefully observe the famous sunset.
Arrival at the hotel around 7:00pm
DAY 5: NONGKHAIW – LUANGPRABANG – KUANG SI WATERFALLS

8:30 am: pick up from the lobby of the hotel.

Transfer back to Luangprabang (3-4 hrs. drive), with some short stops. From Luangprabang drive directly to Kuang Si Waterfalls(1 h. trip), with a stop to visit a Hmong village and paddies. There is a natural swimming pool beside the waterfalls, ideal for swimming and relaxing. It’s also possible to see some rescued bears
.
Arrival at the hotel of Luang Prabang around 5:00 pm.
DAY 6: LUANGPRABANG – TRANSFER TO THE AIRPORT
